How to export Feed&Feed Additives to China

China is a growing market in decades for all products.
As China people are living a better life than 20 years ago, more and more are raising pets now. Pet food is more and mroe popular, especially pet food imported from foreign coutries. According to statistics, there are 150 million pets up to 2015 with an incressing rate of 8% every year. Pet food market 7 billion US dollars up to 2016. It is still growing.
How companies catch the opportunity? Well, first of all, foreigh factories who want to export feed products to China need to apply for REGISITERED LICENSE to Ministry of Agriculture (MOA) and access to Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine(AQSIQ).
Ministry of Agriculture (MOA) and Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine(AQSIQ) are 2 supervision departments. MOA mainly targets the products while AQSIQ for overseas manufacturers. Both the LICENSE and Access can be applied at the same time.
China government allows companies who are listed in the Admission Directory on AQSIQ official website, to export pet food products to China only.
When manufactures in foreign coutries finish those 2 permission from both AQSIQ & MOA, it can export PET/Animal food to China directly.
Below is simple procedure:
Quarantine Access Procedures for Agricultural Products
to be imported to China for the first time
1. The competent quarantine authority of the exporting country shall, according to the trade interest, submit an official application in written form to General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People’s Republic of China(AQSIQ)for exporting agricultural products to China with the its name, variety , use and information of importers and exporters.
2. AQSIQ will, according to the application, deliver a questionnaire concerning the Import Risk Analysis (IRA) to the exporting country for reply.
3. After receiving the reply to the questionnaire, AQSIQ will organize the relevant specialist to initiate IRA process.
If necessary, AQSIQ will ask the exporting country for more information during the eva luation period;
Based on the assessment of the above information, AQSIQ will decide whether it is necessary to send a specialist group to the exporting country to have on-the-spot inspection.
4. After finishing the IRA, AQSIQ will take account of whether or not to submit a draft of quarantine protocol or sanitary requirements for the product to be imported from the country to China, which will be discussed by both sides.
5. After having reached agreement on the protocol or sanitary requirement, the trade of this product will be commenced according to the requirements specified in the protocol.
